Hi everyone!

MECCA – The Marketing Club of Goa Institute of Management is proud to launch μtopia – the online marketing magazine.

Marketing is not just a passion but a way of life.  μtopia is one such initiative which aims to build a platform for peer learning and creative thinking and provide insights into the multi-faceted world of marketing.

We would like to invite articles for the pioneer edition of μtopia.

You can choose to send in your entries on one of the themes listed below:

1)     The Body Lotion segment is witnessing lot of activity these days with many brands vying for consumer attention. Prepare an outline of a marketing campaign for Parachute Advansed Body Lotion which marks the entry of Brand Parachute in the skincare segment.

2)      Ambush Marketing – is it ethical?

3)      Cult Branding – is India ready for it?

4)      Video Marketing – a fad or here to stay?

5)      Any topic of your interest related to marketing or branding

 

Prizes:

  • The winning article would Win cash prizes worth Rs. 1000 , a ‘Winning certificate’ ,  feature in  μtopia – the flagship magazine of MECCA  ,feature on our facebook page and feature on the official blog of MECCA
  • The other winning entries will feature in the magazine, facebook page , blog and receive a ‘Certificate of Recognition’

Deadline for submission of the articles: 11: 59 PM, 28th October, 2011

Some Important Points:

  • Register at http://goo.gl/A0wDZ   before 25th October , 2011
  • Send your article to mecca@gim.ac.in   by 11: 59 PM ,28th October, 2011 with subject line and file name as  “MECCA_Article Name”
  • Word Limit : 800- 1000 words
  • Articles MUST be replete with relevant pictures that can be used to enhance your article. (Please use only .jpeg format of pictures.)
  • References should be mentioned wherever necessary to avoid plagiarism.
  • Font should be Times New Roman with font size as 12 and 1.5 as spacing, two columns typed.
  • Name, course and year of the author/(s) should be mentioned only at the beginning of the word document.
  • The articles would be judged for

a)      Originality of thought

b)      Relevance

c)      Creativity

  • Articles can be contributed by Corporate/ B-School Students.
  • Articles can be co-authored or written individually. (In case an article is co-authored the prize will have to be shared)
  • Any number of entries is permitted from a B-School.
  •  In case of any disputes regarding the selection of articles for the magazine, the decisions of MECCA Core Committee and GIM faculty would be final.
